Q: What is Surency Dental PPO?

A:  Surency Life & Health's dental product is Surency Dental PPO, a Preferred Provider Organization. This is a discounted fee-for-service program. When a dentist signs a Participating Dentist Agreement, they agree to accept the amount in a fee schedule set by Surency as payment in full. Participating dentists will be listed in the Surency directory. Payments for service rendered will be sent directly to the dentist. Surency Dental PPO members may go to the dentist of his/her choice.

Q: Do I have to take a write off on a procedure that isn't covered by the patient's dental plan?

A:  Surency Dental PPO is a discounted fee-for-service program. Participating dentists agree to accept the amount set in the fee schedule. Participating dentists are allowed to collect their full fee if the procedure is not a covered benefit under the group's plan.

Q: Are predeterminations required?

A:  Predeterminations are not required but they are strongly recommended. Predeterminations tell you and the member what the estimated payment will be and what the estimated patient portion will be before the services have been rendered.

Q: When submitting claims to Surency, which procedures require X-rays?

A:  Not every procedure will require an X-ray. Anterior crowns, veneers, bridgework, implants, restorative implant crowns, crown buildups and surgical extractions routinely require preoperative radiographs for professional review.

Q: What are the benefits of becoming a contracted provider?

A:  Practice promotion, direct payment, provider services, online services and excellent customer service.
